Fine Art Printing Guide | Paru — Layered Paintings

This guide is intended to help you get the best results when printing your artwork. While you are free to print wherever you choose, following these recommendations will ensure the artwork looks as intended.

Where to print

In India (Recommended Services):

  • For Gallery & Museum Quality: ProLab (prolab.in) or Nature Works (natureworksindia.com).

    • Ask for: "Fine Art Giclée" or "Archival Pigment" printing on Cotton Rag paper.

  • For High-Quality Decor: PrintPosters.in (Excellent Canvas & Art Prints) or Canvas Champ (Budget-friendly Canvas).

  • For Standard Prints: Zoomin or Vistaprint.

International Options:

  • USA: Mpix (Best overall) or Nations Photo Lab.

  • UK/Europe: The Print Space (Best for fine art) or WhiteWall.

Choosing the Right Paper (Crucial)

The ideal paper depends on the visual style of the collection you purchased.

For Quiet Portraits collection and painterly works:

  • The Goal: To mimic the look of a traditional oil painting.

  • Best Paper: Hahnemühle German Etching, Cotton Rag, or Heavyweight Matte, 250-300gsm paper.

  • Alternative: Canvas (Matte finish), suitable for larger sizes.

  • Avoid: Glossy or Pearl papers. The reflective shine will conflict with the simulated brush texture and make the piece look flat.

For Gilded Nature Abstractions collection and Figurative Abstractions collection:

  • The Goal: To enhance the metallic, structural, and sharp details.

  • Best Paper: Satin, Luster, or Pearl finish. These papers have a soft sheen that makes the gold and light effects "pop" without the harsh glare of full gloss.

  • Modern Option: Acrylic Face Mounts or Metal Prints (Aluminum) create a stunning, contemporary look for these collections.

Size Guide

Your download includes high-resolution files suitable for various sizes.

  • Museum Quality (300 DPI): Prints perfectly up to A3 size (approx. 12 x 16 inches).

  • Wall Art Standard: Can be printed comfortably up to A2 size (approx. 16 x 24 inches) on canvas or textured paper without loss of visual quality.

For Digital Displays (Samsung 'The Frame' TV)

Your download includes a high-resolution file that works beautifully on 4K screens.

  • Tip: If your TV has a "Matte Mode" or "Art Mode" setting:

    • Turn it ON for Quiet Portraits to reduce screen glare and mimic canvas.

    • Turn it OFF (or set to Standard) for Gilded/Abstract works to let the metallic colors shine.

Important notes

  • Finding a Local Printer: If you prefer a local shop, search for terms such as "fine art printing," "giclée printing," or "professional photo lab" in your region. Look for printers that offer 300 DPI output and color-managed workflows.

  • Colors: Colors may vary slightly between your screen and the physical print depending on the printer’s calibration and the paper stock used.

  • Usage: These purchases are for personal decorative use only. Commercial resale is not permitted without prior written permission.

  • Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the third-party printing services listed above; they are suggestions based on quality standards.
